Tottenham are ready to make moves in the transfer market with regard to their forward positions, following major regeneration work to their backline and midfield already in the summer transfer window.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has added five new players to the squad he inherited at the end of March, having saved Spurs from relegation to the Championship on the final day of the 2025/26 season.

Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, defenders Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke and midfielder Mateus Fernandes have already arrived in north London, with another midfielder Sandro Tonali all-but done as well to be the sixth signing of the summer.

Spurs have been linked with a number of forward players already

The Tonali deal will take Spurs' summer spending over the £235million mark and more money will have been set aside to improve the forward line too.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of players in forward areas, namely Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush and Manchester United's England star Marcus Rashford, while it has also been reported that Rafael Leao has been offered to the north Londoners.

Leao is looking for a new club and a new challenge in a different country, having spent the last seven seasons in Italy with AC Milan.

Speaking ahead of the 2026 World Cup, he said: "Personally, I've given everything at AC Milan. It's a club that helped me grow a lot and supported me through tough times.

"Fortunately, I managed to make my mark in their history. Everyone has ambitions and I dream of a new challenge in a new league."

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are understood to want between €60million and €70million (£51.3milion to £59.9million) for the winger this summer.

Leao keen to make Tottenham move

Tottenham have already held talks with Leao's agent Jogen Mendes over a potential move to N17 and according to Teamtalk, Leao has made it clear during those initial discussions that he would be open to making the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Spurs will not have it all their own way in negotiations, however, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona all having also been offered the chance to the sign the 27-year-old this summer.

Leao has been lauded for his play in the past, with former Portuguese teammate Nani describing him as "world-class", while Zlatan Ibrahimovic once said he was " one of the strongest players in the world".

Leao scored 10 goals and laid on three assists in 31 appearances for Milan last season in what was an underwhelming campaign, but has already registered a goal and assist at the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
