Tottenham Hotspur have been extensively scouting a young striker this year, but his current club want to tie him down to a new contract.

Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping tabs on Archie Gray’s younger brother, Harry Gray, with scouts from north London having watched the Leeds United youngster closely.

However, Spurs are not the only ones showing interest in the 17-year-old, with several sides both in the Premier League and across Europe keeping a close eye on the talented forward.

Now eligible to sign his first professional contract, it is expected that Gray will commit his future to Leeds United, as reports suggest his main focus remains breaking into the first team and establishing himself as a regular at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke addresses Harry Gray’s Leeds United future amid Tottenham interest

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has now spoken about the future of 17-year-old Harry Gray, who continues to attract transfer attention from Tottenham and other clubs.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Farke made it clear that discussions around Gray’s future are being handled internally but hinted that positive developments could soon follow.

“I talk about business once business is done, that is one of my principles,” Farke said. “Harry is out of training at the moment, he needs a few more days, and he will be back in team training next week.

“Behind the scenes, we are trying to build our squad for the future, do some business, and have positive negotiations for players who attract us.

“We see a lot in him, we have spoken about this, and I expect some positive news in the future. It makes sense if you announce a new contract to do it once the player is fit and available. I expect that not too far away we will have some positive news on players in our squad.”

Archie Gray’s little brother is still on Spurs radar

Leeds are back in the top flight and only recently faced Tottenham, but it was Thomas Frank’s side that came out on top with a 2-1 victory.

Gray has made just one senior appearance for Leeds United, which came in the Championship during a 6-0 thumping of Stoke City.

He is clearly a youngster with huge potential, one who could rise quickly through the ranks, and with Spurs open to investing in young talent, they will surely continue to monitor his progress even if he signs professional terms with Leeds.
