Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign forward Yoane Wissa, who is “pushing to leave Brentford this summer," according to talkSPORT.

Ange Postecoglou will forever be remembered as the man who finally ended Tottenham’s 17-year trophy drought, winning the Europa League by beating Manchester United in the final. In the Premier League, however, Spurs struggled massively, finishing 17th with 22 losses from 38 games.

Such league form was impossible to ignore and as such, Postecoglou was dismissed in the summer. To replace him, the Lilywhites appointed Thomas Frank, who had worked wonders with Brentford across seven years. Spurs look ready to support the Dane with additions, given they have Champions League football to prepare for.

Now, it would seem that Frank is keen on reuniting with this star that he spent years managing at Brentford.

Spurs Want Wissa

Forward enjoyed an impressive season

As per talkSPORT, Spurs would be interested in signing Yoane Wissa this summer. Wissa has been linked with a departure from Brentford, who have already lost their manager and captain in Frank and Christian Norgaard. In the absence of Ivan Toney, Wissa enjoyed his best Premier League season to date alongside fellow forward Bryan Mbeumo.

Brentford would demand £50 million for their Congolese goalscorer, though “interested parties believe they can be negotiated down.” Should Mbeumo depart before the window closes, that may strengthen Brentford’s resolve, who surely would not want to lose both of their top scorers from last season in one summer.

Spurs, however, would be an attractive proposition for Wissa, dubbed "fantastic," who would be signing for the manager that oversaw the best form of his career to date.
