Tottenham Hotspur may have been handed an unexpected boost ahead of the Europa League final, with two Manchester United stars missing from training at Carrington.
Speaking ahead of the Europa League final set to take place in Spain at the San Mames Stadium on 21 May, Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim made it clear that he would love for his side to go into the final injury-free.
He said: “I am just worried about the next game, trying not to get any injuries for the final. If we do not win the final, it means nothing for us. We have to have a full squad [against Tottenham], stay in the game and have a bit of luck and we have to be clinical.”
With seven days to go before the final in Spain, Manchester United are now sweating over the fitness of two of their centre-backs.
Tottenham handed Europa League final boost as Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt miss training
This report comes from George Smith, a writer for the Manchester Evening News, who has now revealed that neither Leny Yoro nor Matthijs de Ligt trained at Carrington this morning (14 May).
The journalist stated that there are big question marks surrounding the pair ahead of next week’s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
This comes after Matthijs de Ligt missed the last two games, while Leny Yoro was forced off against West Ham United after picking up a knock.

Spurs midfield crisis worsens ahead of Europa League final
It is never a good thing to see players pick up injuries, especially when there is a big game coming up, but that has been the story of both clubs’ season this campaign.
Tottenham, who have had to navigate an injury crisis for most of the season, are now dealing with a midfield crisis as James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, and Dejan Kulusevski are all out and will not be in contention for the final (unless you believe the rumours about Bergvall).
