Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a much-needed boost regarding Randal Kolo Muani, following fresh reports on the extent of his latest injury setback.

Randal Kolo Muani has endured a stop-start spell at Tottenham Hotspur since completing his deadline-day move.

The Frenchman has had to deal with several injuries during his time in north London, with a dead leg first keeping him out during his opening weeks.

A jaw injury is the latest setback for Muani after he had finally begun to get some much-needed game time, as Thomas Frank looked to integrate him fully into his side.

The most recent setback came in Spurs’ last outing against Manchester United, with Frank taking Muani off at half-time following a knock.

The Spurs forward has since withdrawn from the French national team, with early reports suggesting that he could face a lengthy 6-8 week spell on the sidelines if surgery is required.

A fresh update from Alasdair Gold has now provided some clarity, revealing that a specialist has confirmed Randal Kolo Muani does have a fractured jaw.

However, it is considered a reasonably positive diagnosis, as it does not require surgery and should therefore rule him out for less than the initially speculated six to eight weeks.

Tottenham and Frank handed timely boost ahead of busy schedule

This should come as a boost for the forward, who will be hoping to contribute to Frank’s side during the hectic festive schedule.

Spurs are set to play eight games in four weeks across all competitions in December, and Frank will need a strong squad if his team are to remain competitive.

Last season, an injury crisis during this same period severely affected Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham side, who slipped down the table as several key players dropped like flies.
