Luka Vuskovic could still make his competitive debut for Tottenham this season, as the German media has shed light on a clause in the centre-back’s loan contract.
There are major hopes for the 18-year-old centre-back at Hotspur Way, not just because of how he has developed on loan but also because he very much looked the part in pre-season.
Vuskovic has admitted that Tottenham were happy for him to stay, but he decided to leave on loan in order to get regular football under his belt.
Spurs charged an extremely modest loan fee from Hamburg for Vuskovic, but it has now emerged that the German club fear that he might not stay for as long as they wish.
Luka Vuskovic could return to Tottenham in January
According to a report in Bild, Vuskovic may only end up spending a matter of months at Hamburg.
This is because Tottenham Hotspur have added a break clause to the defender’s contract, which allows them to recall the teenager at the turn of the year.
The report explains that this is a matter of concern for Hamburg, who has been very impressed with Vuskovic and expect him to be a key part of their defence.

The Bundesliga club would thus be hoping that Tottenham do not suffer an injury crisis around January that forces them to recall the Croat.
Vuskovic may come up against Harry Kane on his debut
The report says that the teenager is now in line to play his first game for the newly promoted club following the conclusion of the international break.
If Vuskovic starts for Hamburg on Saturday, he will come up against Tottenham legend Harry Kane, with HSV travelling to the Allianz Arena.
