Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old is expected to be on the move this month, and it will be interesting to see if the North London club can bring him back to the Premier League. He needs regular gametime to cement his place in the England national team for the upcoming World Cup.

Spurs have the edge in Conor Gallagher race

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Atletico Madrid would be open to selling the player permanently, and that could give Tottenham an advantage in the race. Manchester United are keen on the player as well, but they are hoping to sign him on loan.

On the other hand, Newcastle, Everton and West Ham United are also interested in the player. However, it is fair to assume that Gallagher will want to compete at the highest level, and Tottenham are likely to be a more attractive destination.

Spurs need Gallagher

Tottenham are looking to bring a quality box-to-box midfielder, who will add drive, defensive cover, and energy in the middle of the park. The England International would be ideal for them. He has proven himself in English football in the past with Crystal Palace and Chelsea. He could make an immediate impact at Tottenham as well.

The midfielder will be desperate to get his career back on track. Regular football at Tottenham would be ideal for him. He is at the peak of his career, and sitting on the bench at the Spanish club will not benefit him.

The player earns around €173,000 per week at the Spanish club, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay him premium wages.

The midfielder has been described as a “leader” in the past, and he could be an exceptional addition to the Tottenham dressing room. He could be an asset for them on and off the pitch.
