Thomas Frank is keen to add a striker to Tottenham’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Dane has highlighted the front line as a key area of weakness for Spurs, and has targeted players like Bryan Mbeumo and Mohammed Kudus to add goals in North London.

The 53-year-old will also look to add a centre forward to help Dominic Solanke, especially with Richarlison expected to leave Tottenham this summer.

However, Spurs may face familiar difficulties in bringing in the right target as news of their latest target emerges.

Tottenham are considering a move for Rodrigo Muniz

True to their recent strategy, Spurs have explored a handful of young strikers across Europe, including earmarking Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo as a potential option.

However, they are equally more inclined to bring in players with Premier League experience to make an instant impact on the first team and guide their already young squad.

As reported by Give Me Sport (23 June), Tottenham are now contemplating a move for Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, who has haunted the North London side over the last two years, scoring three goals in Spurs’ last two visits to Craven Cottage.

The Brazilian striker has played second fiddle to Raul Jimenez most of this season, but still managed a good return relative to his time on the pitch.

Fulham are widely reported not to be willing to sanction a sale this summer, while Tottenham are expected to face competition from other Premier League sides.

This will make any deal more difficult to get through, especially given that the Lilywhites face a similar dilemma to when they had Harry Kane.

The England captain was too good to ever be replaced in the first team, limiting the number of players who were willing to join Spurs with no guarantee of permanent game time.

Tottenham currently face a similar issue with Dominic Solanke.

The Lilywhites broke their transfer record to bring the 27-year-old in from Bournemouth last summer, and Frank has already demonstrated his admiration for the Englishman, which will make convincing any top-quality striker to join Spurs this summer very difficult.

Frank is in desperate need of squad depth at Tottenham

One of the biggest lessons to come out from last season’s woeful Premier League campaign was that Tottenham desperately need to upgrade their squad depth.

It’s not an issue of numbers, as Spurs officially have over 30 players on their books, but the level of quality they can bring off the bench or use to rotate the team needs vast improvement.

It will call for Frank to make brutal decisions, including potentially selling players like Son Heung-min if necessary, to ensure that the overall quality can perform consistently across multiple competitions.
