Tottenham Have Perfect Opportunity To Appoint Title

With more than two weeks until Tottenham play again, now is the perfect time to make a change in the dugout - the second this season - to save the season and the Lilywhites' Premier League status.

Igor Tudor has failed in his mission as a firefighter coming in to rescue the club, as he has done on a number of occasions elsewhere, failing to win any of his five Premier League games in charge yet.

That has seen Spurs sink deeper into the relegation mire, now just one point and one place above the bottom three and staring down the barrel of a first relegation out of the top flight since 1977.

Roberto De Zerbi Linked With Permanent Tottenham Job

And while now may be the perfect time to make another change, Spurs may have the perfect candidate who has found the ideal time to make the move too.

Tottenham wanted to avoid bringing in a permanent manager until the summer, hoping that an interim boss would see them through until the end of the season when they could reassess and have their pick of available options.

That has not gone to plan, though, and while another interim could be on the cards, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Tottenham employ a permanent head coach now. Roberto De Zerbi has been mentioned in dispatches with that very role, although the Italian remains keen on waiting until the summer.

But why not make a move for someone who already has a list of honours to his managerial name bigger than De Zerbi and who, crucially, has a connection with Spurs in Robbie Keane?

Keane Has The Honours To Prove He Is A Better Choice Than De Zerbi

According to reports, Tottenham have already held talks with Keane about the role and his past with the club and love for the club is something seen as vital at this period in time, to get the players fighting with every breath.

Keane won the Israeli Premier League with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023/24 and then won the Hungarian League with Ferencvaros last season. He could do so again with Ferencvaros this season, although his side are three points behind Gyor, albeit with a game in hand.

Keane may not want to leave Ferencvaros in the lurch, particularly with a chance to win the title again on his hands, but it could be the perfect time for Spurs to make a move now they are out of the UEFA Europa League.

The Hungarian side were fighting on two fronts in the league and Europe until they were knocked out of the Europa League by Braga at the last 16 stage last week.

If he feels like the job is done, now could be the time for Tottenham to make their move. And were he to be offered the Tottenham job, he would go with Ferencvaros' blessing.

Keane Would Be Allowed To Leave Ferencvaros Without Any Issues

Ferencvaros chief executive Pal Orosz said this week: "He can win and motivate a lot, the players believe in him and that is the most important thing. A real leader.

"If he really was mentioned with Tottenham, then we are proud, because in this way we made the right choice. And he also wanted to come here, and that is why he left his mark here."

Keane enjoyed an impressive career with Tottenham as a player, becoming a legend at the club with 122 goals in 306 appearances for the north London club over nine seasons. He would be a popular choice with supporters to return to the club.
