Reports linking Yang Min-hyeok with a shock move to Real Madrid have been played down, with fresh information suggesting a different path lies ahead for the Tottenham winger in January.

Earlier today, we reported that Real Madrid were showing interest in Tottenham Hotspur youngster Yang Min-hyeok.

The 19-year-old is currently out on loan in the Championship with Portsmouth, where he has scored two goals and registered an assist.

It was claimed that Yang’s potential is what caught the eye of the Spanish giants, although it remained unclear if a move was set to materialise in the winter window.

Real Madrid move unlikely for Tottenham’s Yang Min-hyeok

A fresh report from Football Asian has now emerged to pour cold water on the claims that originated from Spain yesterday.

According to the Asian outlet, it is believed that a move to Real Madrid for Yang Min-hyeok is highly unlikely at this stage.

However, it is claimed that a change of loan clubs in January is very much on the cards for the Spurs winger, who is reportedly not short of suitors.

The teenager has managed just 643 minutes of action in the Championship, where he is yet to play a full ninety-minute match since his summer move.

Spurs set to make Yang Min-hyeok loan decision in January

It is believed that a move to another Championship side remains an option, as Yang could be recalled and re-loaned to a stronger, higher-ranked side.

Interest from mainland Europe is also present, with Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs monitoring the situation, while Tottenham Hotspur could potentially recall him to the first-team squad if the need arises.

The report goes on to explain that the speculation regarding the player’s future is not about hype but rather finding the right environment, and January could well define his next step.
