Tottenham have held talks to sign one of the best players in the world in a sensational move for the club.

It's already been a successful summer transfer window for Tottenham, who have made a host of new additions.

Spurs have prioritised strengthening their defence and midfield while also bringing in a back-up goalkeeper.

Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, and Andy Robertson have all made the move to Tottenham this summer.

Spurs don't appear to be finished there, though, as they look to switch their attention to strengthening in the forward positions.

Signing a striker and a winger could be their next priorities, but they'll be happy with the business they've already done in early July.

Tottenham hold striker transfer talks

According to a report from Team Talk, Tottenham are ready to sign Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane in the summer transfer window, looking to bring him back to Hotspur Way in a sensational move.

Spurs have held talks over a possible move for the England international, and they are well informed on developments surrounding their former player.

Tottenham could be in a position to bring Kane back to the club, potentially next summer, with intermediaries actively sounding out a potential next move for the striker.

Bayern Munich are in talks to extend his contract, which is no surprise given how crucial he's been since his move to the Bundesliga.

Despite that, clubs are lurking in the background, including Tottenham.

Kane still one of the best in the world

Kane is proving at the World Cup that he's still one of the best players in the world.

He certainly shouldn't have had anything to prove, though, if his 25-26 season was anything to go off.

The English striker scored 64 goals in 56 appearances for Bayern Munich last season in all competitions, meaning he now has 146 goals in 147 games for them.

At the age of 32, he remains one of the best, with journalist Dom Smith describing him as 'the best footballer in the world'.

Convincing Bayern Munich to part ways with the forward is going to be a difficult task, but Tottenham will certainly try if it's possible.
