Tottenham Hotspur have been contacted by the representatives of Ademola Lookman in the last 72 hours to ascertain their level of interest as the Atalanta star has pinpointed Hotspur Way as a potential destination after his switch to Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan fell through, according to TBR Football.

Spurs head coach Thomas Frank has remained eager to secure further creativity despite starting the Premier League campaign with a convincing win over Burnley last weekend and, having been forced to contend with a high-ranking Manchester City official blocking Savinho's switch, the north Londoners are scouring the market for an alternative.

Lookman's Agents Discuss a Switch to Spurs

Tottenham have held talks with Lookman's agents after his move to Inter Milan collapsed, according to TBR Football, but they are at risk of facing stiff competition if they attempt to take advantage of his situation as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Aston Villa have also been alerted to his availability.

The wide forward has entered the final two years of his Atalanta contract, which allows him to pocket close to £40,000-per-week, and he has remained keen to take his career in another direction before the summer window slams shut on September 1 despite his switch to the San Siro failing to come to fruition.

Lookman handed in a transfer request earlier this month, having claimed that his current employers had been guilty of breaking promises, and Tottenham have been informed that he is back on the market as Frank goes in search of making further additions to the squad he inherited from predecessor Ange Postecoglou.

The departure of captain Heung-min Son to Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles FC, for a fee of more than £20million, has resulted in members of Spurs' recruitment department looking to secure another attacking presence as they prepare to compete in this season's Champions League.

Lookman, who has been described as 'world-class' by BBC journalist John Bennett, is assessing his options as the deadline edges closer and the decision for his representatives to reach out to Spurs would suggest that he is open to becoming the latest addition to the north Londoners' squad.

Atalanta are seeking close to £48million for the 27-year-old Nigeria international, highlighting that Tottenham will have to splash the cash if they want to win the race for his signature, and that proved to be too much for Inter Milan as they have chosen to turn their attention towards alternative targets.
