Tottenham are gearing up for a decisive January window, and fresh indications now suggest that the push for reinforcements could extend far beyond the forward line.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have every reason to be excited for the January transfer window, with a little over a month before it opens.

Spurs are looking to show more drive in the transfer market, and there is money to be spent, especially after the Lewis Family’s recent £100 million cash injection, which has put the club in a strong position heading into the winter.

Tottenham’s attacking options has often been touted as the position that is in need of significant investment; however, fresh reports now claim that another position is also being considered this winter.

Guglielmo Vicario’s status as number one choice is at risk

This report comes from The Daily Mail, who state that despite Tottenham looking to sign a new centre-forward, Spurs are also in the market for a world-class goalkeeper.

It is believed that while Guglielmo Vicario has often impressed this season, his inability to command his penalty area and his struggles with set pieces have led Tottenham to consider replacements.

There is money to be spent, and the Lewis Family has promised to back the club in the transfer market, but it remains unclear what areas of the pitch will be strengthened.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Antonin Kinsky was only signed last winter, and given his age, he could become the future number one in N17, but Spurs are still on the lookout for a shot stopper as they assess their long-term options.

Not only is the number nine and the goalkeeping department a matter of concern, but the wide area, particularly on the left, also needs reinforcing.

Tottenham fans have been clear about it, with supporters urging for all of the cash injection from the Lewis Family to be spent on Antoine Semenyo.

The Bournemouth man is now expected to be available for a lot less this winter, given the clause in his contract, which gives Spurs a boost in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
