Real Betis have made it clear they have no intention of entertaining interest in Troy Parrott amid growing speculation linking the Republic of Ireland striker with a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

Parrott has attracted renewed attention after an impressive international break, with his stunning goal against Austria adding to the growing excitement around the 24-year-old. His form has also revived discussion about a possible return to Spurs, where he came through the academy before leaving for AZ Alkmaar.

Tottenham supporters have openly expressed regret over the club's decision to part with the striker and have discussed whether he could now be brought back to north London. Manchester United have also been mentioned among the clubs monitoring his situation.

However, Betis have responded firmly to the speculation. When a Tottenham fan account asked whether the club should sign Parrott again, Betis' official English-language account replied simply: "No." The response appeared designed to underline their determination to keep hold of the forward.

Tottenham Hotspur face hurdle in Troy Parrott return

According to Estadio Deportivo, Betis have also protected themselves against potential approaches by inserting a €100 million release clause into Parrott's contract. The striker signed a deal running until June 2031 after the Spanish club agreed a €16m initial fee with AZ, with a further €4m available in add-ons.

That clause would make any attempt to take Parrott away from Seville particularly expensive, although the report does not indicate that Tottenham have made a formal approach for the player.

Parrott's start to the season has nevertheless strengthened his position. He has scored twice for Betis and added three goals for Ireland during the current international break, including his spectacular effort against Austria.

The forward has not been an automatic starter for Betis because of competition from Cucho Hernández, but his recent goalscoring form has placed him firmly back in the spotlight.

For Tottenham, the interest may therefore be easier to discuss than to act upon, with Betis' stance and Parrott's substantial release clause presenting significant obstacles to any potential reunion.
