Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on signing the RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons during the summer transfer window.

Journalist Matt Law has confirmed that Spurs are in the mix to get the deal done, but it could require a substantial package to get the signing across the line.

Tottenham in the race

Law told Last Word On Spurs: “So Xavi Simons does want to come to England this summer and leave Leipzig, he’s got quite a few people looking at him, and I’m told Tottenham are definitely one of those where there is an interest.

“I don’t think it’s an easy deal to do, from what I’m told, I think he wants quite a big package himself, I don’t think the transfer fee would necessarily be something that would be a problem for Tottenham or other clubs.

“But I do think Tottenham are in the mix for him and are certainly interested, but I think there are a few, so I don’t think they’ll have a clear run at him. I definitely think they have a shout.”

Tottenham could use Xavi Simons

The Netherlands International scored 11 goals last season and picked up eight assists. He is capable of slotting into multiple attacking roles, and he could prove to be an excellent addition for Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if they can secure his signature in the coming weeks.

They will look to do well in the Premier League next year, and they need to bring quality signings. Improving the attacking unit will be one of their priorities. Signing the dynamic Netherlands international would be a wise decision. The player is only 22, and he will improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a top-quality player with the right guidance.

Simons is highly rated across Europe, and he has been previously labelled as an “exceptional” player. There is no doubt that he has the potential to develop into one of the best attackers in the league.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be quite exciting for the young attacker as well. It would be a step up in his career, and he would get to prove himself at a higher level. It will be interesting to see if he can hit the ground running in English football.
