Journalist Ben Jacobs has just revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have taken a huge step towards landing Angel Gomes over the last few days.

Even though there is no clarity on who Tottenham’s manager will be over the coming weeks, the Lilywhites are seemingly pushing ahead with moves for their transfer targets.

It has been revealed over the last few days that Spurs have started working on a deal to sign Angel Gomes, who is now a free agent after his contract with Lille ran out.

Last month, some outlets claimed that despite facing a lot of competition for the England international, Tottenham are optimistic about their chances of landing Gomes.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now become the latest to talk up the possibility of the 24-year-old ending up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

He claimed that the North Londoners have already submitted an offer to Gomes’ entourage and over the last past few days, they have grown in confidence that the contract offer will be accepted by the player.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport about Tottenham’s transfer plans: “Gomes is another possibility, and Tottenham have made an offer. What I’ve heard in the last kind of 48 hours is that Tottenham have grown in confidence that their offer might be accepted.”
