Tottenham Hotspur are still battling injury setbacks, but things are looking a little brighter for Roberto De Zerbi ahead of a crucial clash against Chelsea.

Every game at this stage of the season certainly carries a huge amount of weight for Tottenham Hotspur, given their Premier League struggles.

The Lilywhites are still embroiled in a relegation scrap with two games to go, but they will be happy to still have their fate in their own hands.

Up next is a game against Chelsea, and it could very much be a must-win for Spurs depending on how results go in the game between Newcastle United and West Ham United.

Should the Hammers beat Eddie Howe’s side, then Tottenham must secure a victory at Stamford Bridge to stay above the dotted line and keep their two-point lead over Nuno’s men.

Dominic Solanke could return for Tottenham ahead of Chelsea clash

Regardless, Roberto De Zerbi will be aiming for all three points when his side takes to the field against their London rivals.

Fortunately for the Tottenham manager, he does not have any fresh injury concerns to deal with, as all of his players came away from the Leeds game without any injuries.

In fact, Spurs were handed a boost as James Maddison made his first appearance in a competitive game for over a year. The Englishman got a solid 20 minutes of action under his belt.

However, the injury list at Tottenham could well be reduced further ahead of the Chelsea game.

Dominic Solanke may feature as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, while Guglielmo Vicario also returned to training over the weekend.

Should the pair return, then Spurs’ injury list could drop to six heading into their penultimate game of the Premier League season.

Spurs face a difficult Stamford Bridge record despite Chelsea’s form slump

Getting a result against Chelsea is absolutely crucial for Tottenham if they are to avoid relegation this season.

However, Spurs are away from home, and their record at Stamford Bridge is far from encouraging, with the Lilywhites winning just the once in their entire history.
