Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. Spurs made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the dying embers of the first half when Johan Manzambi found the back of the net. Roberto De Zerbi’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Nicolas Jackson doubled Aston Villa’s advantage in the 67th minute before Emiliano Buendia made it 3-0 to the Villans in the 79th minute. Conor Gallagher got a goal back for the home side just seven minutes later. Jan Paul van Hecke got his name on the scoresheet as well in injury time as Spurs crashed to a disappointing 3-2 loss in front of their home fans.
