Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Villarreal

How Tottenham Have Lined-up Recently

Tottenham have lined up in a 4-3-3 formation this season. It seemed that this was due to a lack of a number ten; however, the arrival of Xavi Simons did not change this.

In goal, Guglielmo Vicario has had a strong season. Pedro Porro and Djed Spence play as full-backs, with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero forming a great centre-back partnership.

Spurs have played with a midfield three. Pape Matar Sarr has started every match in the league, whilst Joao Palhinha has in all but one. Lucas Bergvall came into the line-up for Rodrigo Bentancur against West Ham.

Brennan Johnson had been starting on the left-wing this season, but Xavi Simons took his place in the last fixture. Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus plays on the right. Richarlison lost his place to Mathys Tel over the weekend, but this may have been to give the Brazilian a rest before this Champions League fixture.

Tottenham Injuries to Consider

Thomas Frank has had to deal with plenty of injuries in his first months at Spurs. Attacking midfielders Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison have been out since the start of the season.
