In a recent interview, former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown stated that Tottenham Hotspur star Micky van de Ven is on the radar of Liverpool. Brown said,
"Van de Ven is somebody who has been on Liverpool's radar for a long time.
"He's certainly somebody who would fit the bill when they're looking to replace Van Dijk, because he's left-sided, physically dominant, he's the captain at Tottenham too.
"I do have my concerns because he's been a big part of the Spurs side that has really struggled, but his individual talent is clear, so Liverpool could rescue him from that nightmare.
"He certainly ticks a lot of boxes, and if Tottenham continue to struggle then I expect a move to Liverpool will be appealing for him.
"Obviously, Spurs aren't going to want to lose one of their best players to a Preimer League rival, but they might struggle to keep him if they stay near the bottom of the table."
Van de Ven's Lackluster Form In The Premier League
Van de Ven has struggled to perform at a high level for Tottenham this season, but has put in a few impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 25-year-old has made five appearances for Spurs in this campaign so far across all competitions.
The Dutch talent is currently among the most talented centre-backs in the Premier League. Hence, it is no surprise that Liverpool are eyeing a move for him next year.

Van de Ven's current contract at Tottenham will expire in 2031, so Spurs are in no hurry to cash in on him this January or at the end of this campaign.
Can Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Afford To Lose Van De Ven?
Van de Ven is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well from the back.
Standing at 1.93m, the Dutch sensation is a strong presence in the air as well. He has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and remains one of the first names in Roberto De Zerbi's teamsheet.
Van de Ven has endured a dip in form over the past 18 months. However, he is still among the best centre-backs in the Premier League, so Spurs simply cannot afford to lose him next year.
At 25, Van de Ven has his best years ahead of him. Hence, De Zerbi would be wise to keep hold of him for the long run.
