Tottenham Hotspur endured a disappointing 2024/25 season, despite winning the Europa League under Ange Postecoglou. A change was made, with Thomas Frank replacing the Aussie manager, giving Spurs fans optimism ahead of the 2025/26 season. It has ultimately been a season to forget for Frank, with the club languishing in 14th position. Reports suggest Frank’s position is under threat, but it appears a new player will be joining the club, with Souza posting a farewell message to Santos, suggesting the transfer is nearing its completion.

Souza Posts Farewell Message
Fabrizio Romano and others have heavily reported that Souza to Spurs is a done deal. It is understood that the player has completed his medical, but Brazilian media have reported that Santos did not hold 100% rights to the player, meaning the deal has taken longer to complete.
Any potential issues appear to have been solved, with the player posting a farewell message via his personal Instagram account:
“After 10 years of defending this shield, the time has come for a new challenge.

“The last year was intense, of growth and overcoming, but even in the difficult moments, I felt the affection and support of the Santista cheerleading. This will never be forgotten.
“I walk out with my head held high, grateful for all that I have experienced and for the certainty that this story was built with truth.
“Thanks for everything, Santos is a pride that not everyone can have!”
Souza will bring plenty to a struggling Spurs team. Despite his young age, he is physically robust and very offensive-minded. His speed and dribbling ability could make him a huge outlet for the team. He is a work in progress defensively, but attacking-wise, he will bring a lot to Spurs and excite the Tottenham Hotspur faithful.
