After the signing of Mohammed Kudus has effectively been completed, Tottenham Hotspur are now “turning attention” to Morgan Gibbs-White, according to David Ornstein. Signing the attacker with “fearless attitude” would be another huge coup for the Lilywhites, and represents the level of ambition that the board now have, and their faith in new manager Thomas Frank.
Tottenham Hotspur in for Morgan Gibbs-White After Completing Mohammed Kudus Move
High on Lists of Several Leading Clubs
Ornstein, of The Athletic, has revealed that Tottenham are now focusing on a move for Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest. This comes after the £55 million move for Kudus, and so will not affect it. Ornstein outlines that Frank has been a “long-term admirer” of the Englishman, who is coming off the back of his best Premier League season to date.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is reportedly also “high on the recruitment lists of several leading clubs”, suggesting that Spurs will have a tough battle to win his signature. Manchester City “strongly considered” a move, but landed on the acquisition of Rayan Cherki, who has managed a goal and an assist in 121 minutes for the Cityzens at the Club World Cup.
Where Do All These Attackers Fit In?
The signings of Gibbs-White and Kudus would add to the group of Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert, and Son Heung-min as players who can play as supporting wide-players or attacking midfielders. Whilst the South Korean club captain may depart, Mikey Moore looks to break into the squad, and Manor Solomon’s destination is not yet confirmed.
However, whilst this may seem to be an overcrowded squad, Spurs head into an action-packed season in which they play Champions League football for the first time in two years. The reformed competition now has eight games in the first phase (alongside a likely play-off match) in which every fixture matters; with just eight automatic qualification spots, there are no longer low-stakes matchups at the end of the group/league stage.

Tottenham’s attackers are also quite injury-prone, with many of last season’s cohort missing chunks of the season. More depth and rotation could be key to avoiding issues. Furthermore, Frank is a new manager, and some of Ange Postecoglou’s stars may not thrive under the Dane. Giving him plenty of options should enable the team to hit the ground running, which is desperately needed after years of inconsistency.
