Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs interested in signing Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi this summer, according to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club are preparing to strengthen at the back ahead of next season, and the Argentina international has emerged as a possible target.

Sensei is out of contract at the end of the season and is likely to leave Bournemouth. Spurs are not the only ones keen on recruiting his services, with Juventus, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa also monitoring his situation.

Tottenham and co are expected to reach out to his camp as they look to sign him for free, but beating suitors to him could prove tricky.

Barca consider Senesi as a good low-cost option, and joining them ahead of Spurs and others could be more appealing.

Tottenham are fighting for Premier League survival and will need to stay up to boost the chances of signing top-flight players.

Qualifying for European football will also come in handy and they will have to win the Champions League this season if they are to play on the continent next season.

They are not one of the favourites to go far in the competition this term and will have to beat Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 to have any hopes of pulling a surprise.

Lack of European football could deal a huge blow on their chances of signing Senesi, but nothing can be ruled out yet.

The 28-year-old has played in 30 games across all competitions for the Cherries this term, weighing in with four assists.

The Argentine centre-back has played over 100 Premier League games, and Spurs could do with his huge experience and quality.

Injuries have impacted their squad depth at the back so far this campaign, and they need to make major addition across all departments in the summer if they retain their top-flight status at the end of the season.
