A new report has revealed whether James Maddison could return from his injury sooner than expected at Tottenham Hotspur.

Maddison has been out injured for the entirety of the season so far after suffering an ACL injury last pre-season during Heung-min Son’s farewell game in South Korea.

Spurs have not only missed the 29-year-old’s creativity, but also his leadership qualities, in what has been an extremely testing campaign for the squad.

The North London club are now desperately fighting to secure their Premier League status, and a new report has now revealed whether they will get any help from Maddison in their quest to stay up.

James Maddison is not expected to feature for Tottenham this season

Last week, Igor Tudor revealed a positive update on Maddison, revealing that the midfielder has started working with the ball and sprinting.

That may have given some Spurs fans hope that we will see the England international return to the pitch before the end of the campaign.

However, The Times have now quashed those hopes in their latest update regarding the attacking midfielder.

The outlet claims that despite Tudor’s positive comments, we are unlikely to see the former Leicester man feature for Tottenham this season.

Two senior Spurs men could soon return

While Maddison may have to wait until next season to run out in a Tottenham shirt, that may not be the case with two other senior players.

There have been positive updates on Rodrigo Bentancur and Mohammed Kudus, who are both expected to return to action in April.
