James Maddison

Tottenham will again be sweating over James Maddison’s fitness after the midfielder was forced off against Chelsea.

The midfielder, starting his second game in six days, pulled up off the ball just minutes into the second half and soon sat down on the pitch.

After talking to his team-mates, it was quickly decided that Maddison could not continue and Conor Gallagher replaced him.

Initial reports suggest Maddison suffered a groin injury, but he will be assessed by the club ahead of next week’s game against Crystal Palace.

Maddison was seen walking fairly freely after the game.

Potential return date: Unknown

Destiny Udogie

Destiny Udogie missed the win over Coventry and was again absent at Chelsea, with Roberto De Zerbi admitting the fitness issues are “a problem”.

The left-back is struggling with a knee injury pick up against Manchester United, and has not been able to train since.

“[Udogie] is not available,” De Zerbi said on Friday. “With the medical staff, we are trying to find the best way for him.

“But after Manchester United, I have not worked with him, and it is a problem.”

Potential return date: November

Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyo was also absent at former club Chelsea, days after making his first league start of the season and producing one of the best performances on the pitch.

That performance was cut short by a suspected calf injury, and despite De Zerbi attempting to play down suggestions of an injury after the game the centre-back was not named in the squad at Chelsea.

Potential return date: October 31 vs Crystal Palace (H)

Lucas Bergvall

Lucas Bergvall was another Tottenham player to suffer an injury at Old Trafford, picking up a knock while attempting to create a chance for Dominic Solanke.

Fortunately, the midfielder is not expected to be sidelined for an extended period, with Roberto De Zerbi confirming he would be out for two weeks.

Speaking earlier in October, De Zerbi explained: “Bergvall had a problem in Manchester early on in the first chance he created for Solanke. He felt pain in his knee but felt fine and on Sunday he came to the training ground and he'll be out for two weeks.”

Savio

Savio

Tottenham summer signing Savio suffered an injury following the draw against Manchester United, leaving the winger facing several weeks on the sidelines. The setback occurred before the squad travelled to Marbella, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming fixtures.

Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the news, saying: “Unfortunately, Savio, on Tuesday before leaving for Marbella, felt a muscular problem and we have lost him for some weeks.”

The exact nature of Savio’s muscular issue remains unclear, with no confirmed return date provided. It also remains uncertain whether the winger will recover in time to feature before the next international break.

Potential return date: November 21 vs Ipswich (H)

Mykhailo Mudryk

Loan signing Mykhailo Mudryk featured just once for his new club before suffering a long-term ankle injury. Roberto De Zerbi described the setback as “stupid,” with reports suggesting the winger would be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Updates on Mudryk’s recovery have been limited since the initial diagnosis. However, that original timeframe could put him in contention for a return to action in early November, although Spurs have been cautious with players and will be in no rush to throw Mudryk back in

Wilson Odobert

Odobert also tore the ACL in his left knee as Newcastle beat Tottenham back in February.

He underwent surgery and has been in recovery at Hotspur Way since. He is said to be progressing well, though, and could return sooner than the usual nine-month recovery timeline might suggest.

Potential return date: December

Xavi Simons

Simons was struck down with an ACL injury when Tottenham visited Wolves in April.

He immediately underwent surgery and missed the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign, but is pushing through his recovery at Hotspur Way.

He shared a video to his social media this week training with a ball at his feet, suggesting he is making positive progress.

Despite that, he is not expected to feature until the new year.

Potential return date: January
