Tottenham insider provides Mikey Moore injury update ahead of pre-season

John Wenham, who regularly breaks news on the Tottenham Hotspur academy via his social media handle, Lilywhite Rose, has now provided an update on Mikey Moore’s injury after the Spurs winger appeared to roll his ankle while playing for England’s Under-19 side.

Moore won many admirers with his exciting wing play last season, and there is a lot of excitement at Tottenham about what the teenager can accomplish next season.

Moore is expected to sign a new contract when he turns 18 in August, and he will now work under a manager who has a great record of developing attacking players.

He has already expressed his excitement about working with Thomas Frank, but there were fears that the youngster might miss the start of the season after his latest injury, with those fears having now been alleviated.

Mikey Moore’s ankle injury is not thought to be serious

The 17-year-old is currently part of the England Under-19s squad for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship.

Moore delivered a brilliant performance in the number ten role in England’s tournament opener against Portugal last week, with the youngster proving his side’s main creative outlet and finding the back of the net from the penalty spot.

However, the Spurs academy graduate came off injured in stoppage time after appearing to land awkwardly and roll his ankle.

He was absent for England’s subsequent clash against Germany, which triggered fears that it might be a significant injury.

John Wenham has now taken to social media to alleviate those fears and to reveal Moore is expected to be back in action very soon.

England U21’s are next in action on Saturday when they face Spain in the quarter final of the tournament.

Will Tottenham send Moore out on loan this summer?

Moore is looking forward to testing himself in the Champions League next season as Spurs return to the biggest stage after a two-year absence.

However, it has emerged that Moore is attracting plenty of loan interest this summer, with Championship sides Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion thought to be keen on landing him.
