Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Swiss midfielder Ardon Jashari during the summer transfer window.
According to TBR Football, multiple clubs are interested in signing the Club Brugge midfielder. AC Milan have already submitted an offer of around £32 million. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on their interest with an official bid to get the deal done. They need more quality in central midfield, and the 22-year-old could be an ideal acquisition.
Jashari was on their radar during the January window as well.
The Swiss midfielder is a player in demand
He has been compared to Arsenal superstar Declan Rice due to stylistic similarities. Clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City also scouted him last season. In addition, Everton, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham United are keeping tabs on his situation.
The midfielder is clearly a player in demand and is widely expected to leave the club this summer. Club Brugge sporting director Devy Rigaux has already told HLN that the player will only leave when the timing is right for everyone involved. He has been tipped to complete a top transfer in the near future. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince the Belgian club to sell the Swiss international.
Devy Rigaux told Het Laatste Nieuws: “We believe that Ardon’s cycle has not yet been completed at the club. We are convinced that Ardon will make a top transfer, but only at a time when it is right for everyone.”
Ardon Jashari to replace Bissouma?
Yves Bissouma is expected to leave the club this summer, and Jashari could be a quality replacement. He has the physical and technical attributes to succeed in the Premier League. Although he is naturally a defensive midfielder, he is capable of playing in a more advanced role. He is composed on the ball and would add both control and creativity to the side.
The 22-year-old would represent a long-term investment for Tottenham, and he has all the tools to develop into a top player for the North London club. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his potential.
