Record winners Arsenal and Manchester United joined the other Premier League sides at this stage of the competition alongside holders Crystal Palace, who defeated Manchester City 1-0 in last season's final.

All the matches for the third round will be played on the weekend of Saturday,10 January 2026.
There will be no replays. If a match finishes level, it will go extra-time before being decided by penalties if required.

National League side Boreham Wood booked their place in the third round of the FA Cup after a 3-0 win over League Two strugglers Newport County. Former Boreham Wood player and current manager Luke Garrard, who admitted himself to be an Arsenal fan, said he would "love" if his side got drawn against Mikel Arteta's team in the third round. The draw takes place on December 8.
