Tottenham are preparing to start a new era without Daniel Levy with two ‘huge’ moves in the transfer market in 2026, journalist Dean Jones has revealed.

The North London club announced the departure of their executive chairman earlier this week, with Levy ending his near 25-year reign with immediate effect.

The 63-year-old was the Premier League’s longest-serving chairman, having been in the role since March 2001, and for Spurs his departure marks an opportunity to shift approach in recruitment.

Jones claims the Lilywhites are anticipating a cash injection that will help bring elite players to the squad over 2026 and 2027, with early suggestions pointing to a top, proven centre-back and a new attacker being on the radar for the new year.

Tottenham Eyeing ‘Ambitious’ New Chapter

According to Jones, Tottenham are eyeing an ‘ambitious’ new chapter following Levy’s exit, and that is expected to be reflected in their next signings, as the club aim to recruit elite players over the next two years.

The North London side are looking to build on the momentum of their Europa League triumph last season and are raising the bar even further, with hopes of sitting at the top table in European football in the foreseeable future.

Tottenham welcomed the likes of Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani this summer, and view the signings as a step forward in terms of experience and immediate impact.

Levy’s surprise exit is also part of a new strategy at the club, as Jones suggests high-ranking officials were concerned by the overall perception of last season, when Spurs finished just 17th in the Premier League table under Ange Postecoglou.

The club are now demanding more from personnel at every level and are aiming to start 2026 with more elite-level proven signings, with a new centre-back and attacking player on the agenda.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham won just 11 league games under Postecoglou in 2024/25.

Tottenham have started the season under Thomas Frank with two wins in the league before falling to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at home last weekend.

The Lilywhites face West Ham away following the international break and kick-start their Champions League campaign with a home clash against Villarreal.
