Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay.
The 28-year-old has been outstanding since joining Napoli, and he scored 13 goals for them in all competitions last season. He was nominated for the Ballon d’Or, and he was undoubtedly one of the best players in European football last season.
According to a report from TEAMtalk via CaughtOffside, Tottenham are interested in the Scottish International midfielder, but a deal will be difficult. Napoli do not want to sell the player, and the midfielder is not keen on leaving them either. It remains to be seen whether Spurs decide to try their luck with an official proposal.
Scott McTominay would be a quality signing
They could use a goalscoring midfielder like him, and he would help them improve. They have done well to bring quality midfielders like Joao Palhinha, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr in recent windows. However, they need more goals in the middle of the park. The former Manchester United midfielder could be ideal for them.
He knows the league well, and he has played in the Premier League before. There is no doubt that he could make an instant impact at the London club. However, any move looks difficult right now.
McTominay move will be difficult
Napoli will not want to lose one of their best players in the middle of the season, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham decide to wait until the summer transfer window to test their resolve.
They have put together an impressive team, and they will look to fight for trophies regularly. Adding more quality in the middle of the park would be ideal for them.
Antonio Conte has labelled the midfielder as a “complete player”, and there is no doubt that he could make a defining impact for Tottenham if he joins the club.
