Reports from Italy have claimed that the race for a Tottenham Hotspur target is now heating up ahead of January as his struggles continue at his current club.

It has been widely reported over the past month that Tottenham are keen on adding a striker to their squad in January.

The latest news that Randal Kolo Muani is now facing an extended spell on the sidelines is only likely to strengthen the Lilywhites’ resolve to add firepower to their squad up front.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that over the last few weeks, a number of outlets have reported that Spurs have launched an enquiry for Jonathan David, who has struggled to make an impression at Juventus since his free transfer in the summer.

Over the last couple of weeks, a few Italian publications have said that Spurs face competition from Chelsea for David’s signature.

Now, a new report in TuttoSport has claimed that a three-horse race is developing for the Canadian international after AC Milan expressed an interest in his services.

The newspaper says that Tottenham Hotspur have ‘enquired repeatedly’ about David over recent weeks, but the Rossoneri are ready to challenge the two London clubs for the 26-year-old’s signature.

TuttoSport state that David simply is not in the right frame of mind at the moment and is struggling for confidence after missing a lot of chances in recent months.

Despite his struggles, the Bianconeri hierarchy are still said to be confident in the striker’s abilities and are backing him to come good.

However, it is explained that should Juve receive a loan offer with an option to buy David in January, they would seriously consider it.
