Tottenham Hotspur are one of the sides interested in signing Man City forward Omar Marmoush as they look to beat competition from Premier League rivals, according to a report from CaughtOffside.

Marmoush looked to be a phenomenal signing for Man City in his opening few months of his career in England, but he's struggled to become a regular in Pep Guardiola's side this season. His situation could be about to get a little more difficult, with GIVEMESPORT sources confirming that City are close to signing Antoine Semenyo.

The addition of Rayan Cherki in the summer transfer window and the improved form of Phil Foden this term has made it tricky for Marmoush to become a regular, and with Premier League clubs now showing an interest in securing his signature, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was keen on a move.

Tottenham Eyeing Man City Star

According to a report from Caught Offside, Tottenham are interested in signing Man City forward Marmoush. The north London club are now involved in a tug-of-war to prise him away from the Etihad Stadium, with Aston Villa also keen on the Egyptian international.

It's claimed that Guardiola is reluctant to allow Marmoush to head through the exit door in the winter window, which is hardly a surprise considering their current injury situation. In the long run, however, Marmoush could find it difficult to play regularly when everyone is fit, and it will be interesting to see if City's stance changes in the summer transfer window.

Marmoush, who has been described as 'world-class', only moved to Man City last January, but with his wages reportedly being in the region of £370,000-a-week, Guardiola's side might have to consider moving him on.

Tottenham Might Struggle in Race for Marmoush

If Aston Villa and Tottenham both make a move to secure the signature of Marmoush, it might be the former who win the race. Villa are undoubtedly in a stronger position at the moment, sitting in third place in the Premier League table, while Tottenham are battling in the bottom half.

Marmoush would undoubtedly back himself to be a regular for both Tottenham and Aston Villa, so his decision would likely be based on the club as a whole. Villa are trending in the right direction, while Spurs have endured a difficult few years.
