Tottenham can demand ‘huge fee’ for Luka Vuskovic ahead of true breakthrough
Tottenham Hotspur have been told that Luka Vuskovic is more than ready to make the step up to the Premier League.
The defender joined the Lilywhites permanently last summer before being sent out on loan to Hamburg in search of regular minutes.
Since then, his spell in the Hanseatic city could hardly have gone any better for all parties.
Becoming a talismanic figure for the Red Shorts, Vuskovic emerged as a leader in Merlin Polzin’s side as they secured survival following their promotion to the Bundesliga.
With a return to Spurs now on the cards, Bundesliga expert Rune Gjerulff believes the 19-year-old is more than ready to make the step to the Premier League, should they seal their spot this week.

Luka Vuskovic ready for Tottenham step as Hamburg loan expires
An unbelievable presence in the backline, Vuskovic has proven crucial to Hamburg’s survival push.
Astonishingly, the 19-year-old finished the season as Hamburg’s second-highest scorer, with six goals to his name.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Bulinews.com Editor-in-Chief Gjerulff was questioned on the current situation in North London and whether Vuskovic is ready to step into a key role under Roberto De Zerbi.
Given that, likely, one of, if not both, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will leave this summer, Gjerulff said: “Sure, I can’t see why he shouldn’t.
“I think he already has the footballing ability, physicality, and mentality to play a key role for Spurs in the Premier League next season,” he added.
Top-flight status, however, remains the most crucial factor for Tottenham, with their woeful season potentially playing into the hands of prospective suitors.
Gjerulff, though, is convinced that the Lilywhites hold all the cards.
“Yes, definitely,” he said when asked whether his performances have put him in the shop window more than they would have liked.
“At this point, Tottenham may well prefer to keep him, so in that sense it’s not ideal if interest from bigger clubs turns his head.
“But even if he were to leave this summer, Spurs would still be in a position to command a huge fee because he’s clearly one of the most talented young centre-backs in the world.”
Tottenham have a star on their hands in Vuskovic
For years, one of the biggest criticisms of Tottenham has been the character – or rather the lack of it – on the pitch.
This season, many within the squad have come under fire, including defenders Van de Ven and Romero, both of whom could leave this summer.
Vuskovic is not just a fantastic centre-back with sky-high potential; he is also a tremendous character, despite not making his official senior debut yet at Spurs.
From the first day of his loan spell, he has embraced the club, its culture, and its fanbase.
Leading by example at such a young age, and at such a big club, the Croatian has become the beating heart of the former European champions.
Alongside the pending returns of Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore in particular, Tottenham have a core of youngsters to build around, with Vuskovic central to it all.
