Tottenham have been lauded for their stellar youth recruitment and the number of players who get promoted to the senior side.

Mauricio Pochettino did a phenomenal job at promoting youngsters and a lot of academy graduates also were given their debuts under Ange Postecoglou.

Now, with Thomas Frank in charge, the Spurs hierarchy will be hoping for the same.

Oliver Irow signs new three-year deal at Spurs

Tottenham confirmed via their academy handle on X on 27 June that Oliver Irow had penned a contract extension.

The 19-year-old first represented the club at the Under-8s level and has since climbed up the ranks.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Irow is on the back of an impressive 2024/25 campaign, as he was the top scorer for the Under-21s side.

The striker scored 10 goals in all competitions, which included six goals in seven games around the turn of the year.

Irow’s new deal will now run out until 2028 and he will be hoping to make his first-team debut by then.

Tottenham will hope Irow continues his development well

Irow’s contract extension with Tottenham until 2028 is excellent news, securing a promising 19-year-old forward for their long-term project.

This commitment reflects Spus’ belief in his potential, evidenced by his six goals and one assist in 18 Premier League 2 games during 2024/25.

To be ready for his senior debut, the Englishman must improve his physicality to handle Premier League defenders, enhance his decision-making in high-pressure moments and increase his goal-scoring consistency, as his current tally, while solid, lacks the prolific edge needed for Frank’s attack.

Regular starts in Under-21 matches, potential loan spells to a Championship club for senior experience, and refining his versatility across forward roles will prepare him for a first-team breakthrough.
