Tottenham have already announced one signing this summer, before the transfer window has even opened, with more set to follow.
Andy Robertson has been confirmed as a new Tottenham Hotspur player. He will join up with his new teammates after July 1 and after Scotland's participation in the 2026 World Cup has ended, following his move from Liverpool at the end of his contract at Anfield.
Marcos Senesi is also set to be confirmed as Spurs' second free transfer signing, arriving from Bournemouth at the end of his contract at the Vitality Stadium.
De Zerbi given money to spend in the summer transfer window
Tottenham are in talks with Manchester City over a move to sign Savinho, while the Lilywhites have also made two bids for Jan Paul van Hecke, although Brighton have rejected both of them.
The Spurs hierarchy are clearly ready to back Roberto De Zerbi in the transfer market and give him the tools he needs to succeed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following back-to-back 17th place finishes in the Premier League.
De Zerbi knows van Hecke well from his time on the south coast and is desperate to team up with the 26-year-old again in north London.
So much so, that Spurs are not deterred by the double bid rejection and intend to go back to the Seagulls with a third bid. GIVEMESPORT understands that an agreement between the two clubs will ultimately be reached, with the player keen to sign for Spurs and reunite with De Zerbi once more.
GMS understands Spurs intend to make a third bid for van Hecke and reports have suggested that while the first two bids were in the region of £40million and £50million, the third is going to be closer to the £60million mark.
Brighton are understood to value van Hecke at around £70million, but with only one year left on his contract at the Amex Stadium, they may have to soften their stance on the price tag on his shoulders.
De Zerbi wants van Hecke reunion at Tottenham
Van Hecke was one of the most improved players at Brighton under De Zerbi's stewardship, with teammate Lewis Dunk saying: "He will give you everything he’s got. His is the biggest improvement I have seen in a player since the manager arrived. I love it."
De Zerbi has already spoken about how good of a player he is too, showing just why he wants to sign him this summer.
He said during his time at Brighton: "Jan Paul’s improvement has been incredible. He is a very smart player, he understands the spaces, and he has the courage to play the ball between the lines under heavy pressure.
"For my style of football, he became a crucial player because he plays with his head as well as his heart."
