Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed a blow in their pursuit of one of their top managerial targets, who has now made clear what his plans are for the summer.
Ange Postecoglou’s future hangs in the balance despite Tottenham’s Europa League win and a whole host of high-profile managers have been linked with the Spurs job over recent months.
One of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist is thought to be an experienced Premier League manager who has guided his club to an 11th-place finish, six places and 16 points above the Lilywhites.
It has been alleged that Tottenham are expected to turn their attention to Marco Silva, who is thought to have plenty of admirers at Hotspur Way.
Marco Silva rules himself out of Tottenham Hotspur job
Some outlets have claimed over recent weeks that Silva is open to taking the Spurs job this summer and that the Portuguese coach is looking for a new challenge after four years in Craven Cottage.
Silva’s contract has a £8m release clause, which means that any interested clubs need not negotiate with Fulham if they are prepared to pay the fee.
However, the 47-year-old has now handed Spurs and his other suitors a blow by confirming that he will be at Craven Cottage next season, thus ruling him out of the race for the N17 hot seat.

When asked about the speculation over his future, the Fulham boss simply responded (via Ben Jacobs): “I will be here next season”.
Who are the other managers on Tottenham’s wishlist?
Silva is not the only Premier League boss being eyed by Spurs, with Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank also mooted as being among Tottenham’s top targets.
The Lilywhites are fans of Inter Milan boss Simeone Inzaghi, while it has been suggested over recent days that Fabio Paratici wants to appoint Francesco Farioli, who recently resigned from his role at Ajax.
