Tottenham Hotspur have been given an update on the future of Man City forward Omar Marmoush, who has been heavily linked with a move to North London.
Marmoush was mooted as a target for Tottenham until the final days of the January window, but he remained put at Man City.
Several sources suggested that Spurs were ready to pounce on the Egypt international if he was made available, but Pep Guardiola’s side seemed unwilling to let any of their attacking options leave mid-season.
The forward’s future looks set to be a big talking point again this summer, and the Lilywhites may be keeping a close eye on his situation.
Tottenham told Omar Marmoush deal will be difficult to pull off
Football Insider now reports that City do not want to sell the 27-year-old this summer, but the player may force a move as he is unhappy with the lack of game time at the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The outlet also spoke to journalist Pete O’Rourke, who made it clear that a deal for Marmoush will not be easy to do, with many big clubs circling over the forward and with City likely to demand a big fee.
O’Rourke told the website: “There was a bit of interest in Marmoush in the January window from a few clubs. Aston Villa looked at it before they signed Tammy Abraham.

“I’m sure there’ll be clubs at home or abroad who would be looking at the Egyptian in the summer window if the player himself does feel the need to move on in search of a new challenge as well.
“So look, it’s not an easy deal to do. He’s got three years left on his contract, and City did spend big money when they signed him from Frankfurt.”
Barcelona could be ready to challenge Spurs for Marmoush
Back in March, CaughtOffside suggested that Tottenham Hotspur may have to see off competition from one of the biggest clubs in Europe to land the Man City man.
The update claimed that Barcelona had identified Marmoush as a ‘serious attacking target’ as the Catalan side embark on a rebuild of their squad.
The report also revealed that Hansi Flick’s men expected the former Eintracht Frankfurt man to be available for a fee of around €75m (£65.8m).
