Tottenham Hotspur may find themselves with more work to do this summer than they thought amid the latest updates on the future of Manor Solomon.
Several senior players are expected to leave Tottenham this summer as the club looks to undertake a major rebuild after two poor campaigns in a row domestically.
Tottenham would have hoped that one player they could shift relatively easily is Manor Solomon, who joined Fiorentina on loan in January, as the Serie A club have a £8.7m option to buy the player.
However, it emerged a couple of weeks ago that Fiorentina are set to ask Spurs for a discount on Solomon this summer as they do not want to pay the asking price.
Fiorentina could pass up on Tottenham’s Manor Solomon this summer
A new report in Corriere Fiorentino (as relayed by Sport Witness) has suggested that the Viola may decide to abandon a deal for the Tottenham Hotspur winger this summer.
The outlet suggests that Fiorentina are ‘likely to move on’ from Solomon and potentially focus on other options, including Jack Harrison, who they have an option to buy for €7m (£6m).
This is because there are growing concerns at Florence over the fitness of the Tottenham winger, who has missed a total of 10 matches with injury for the Italian club since his January move.

Interestingly, though, it is pointed out that Solomon’s deal at Spurs runs until 2028, and so it is not out of the question that Paolo Vanoli’s side could ask for another loan.
Could Spurs be tempted to keep Solomon if they are relegated?
It has been widely reported that Tottenham are making two distinct plans for the summer window, depending on whether they stay up or go down.
While one would expect Solomon to be offloaded if De Zerbi’s men manage to avoid relegation, they may consider keeping him if they go down.
The 26-year-old is one of the few players in the Tottenham squad who has tasted Championship football, having impressed in the second-tier on loan at Leeds last season.
