The Premier League has confirmed the match officials for the 35th round of fixtures, including Spurs’ game against Leeds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs did something this week that they haven’t done since August of last year. They have started their week for a second time in a row on a win.

Tottenham’s 2-1 victory at Aston Villa saw them leapfrog West Ham out of the relegation zone and into 17th place in the league, and perhaps more importantly, Roberto De Zerbi’s men put in a mature and collected performance that was much improved when compared to their display at the Mollineux.

Spurs will have to wait until Monday next week to play their next fixture against Leeds United. With the gap to West Ham only at two points, the job is far from over for Spurs, who shouldn’t expect an easy fixture either, as Leeds are one of the in-form teams in the league.

Jarred Gillett confirmed as the referee for Leeds United v Tottenham Hotspur

The Premier League have confirmed that Jarred Gillett will officiate the crucial meeting between Spurs and Leeds on Monday.

Neil Davies and Steve Meredith will be his two assistants, and Tom Kirk will take the role of the fourth official.

Craig Pawson will be on VAR duties and will be assisted by Nick Hopton.

Spurs will want a push in the right direction this time

Tottenham Hotspur are actually Jarred Gillett’s most refereed club. He’s taken charge of 15 games involving the Lilywhites and, over their course, Gillett had shown Spurs players a yellow card 38 times.

That’s nearly double the amount of yellows he’s shown to Brentford (20) and Newcastle (28) over the same number of games.

Gillett also sent off Yves Bissouma for a studs-up challenge in Spurs’ game against Nottingham Forest in Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge.

Gillett’s card happy nature won’t be the only painful memory Tottenham fans have of his refereeing. Controversially, Gillet ruled out a Cristian Romero goal for Micky van de Ven’s incredibly soft push on Kyle Walker-Peters in Spurs’ away game against West Ham earlier this season.

Craig Pawson won’t be the most popular figure in Spurs’ fanbase either. Pawson was also the VAR in Tottenham’s home game against Fulham this season. VAR refused to intervene when Raúl Jiménez committed a foul in the Tottenham box by pushing Radu Drăgușin, which directly led to a Fulham goal.
