Tottenham Hotspur should do all they can to replace Ange Postecoglou with a boss that Fabio Paratici is crazy for this summer - with the Lilywhites potentially being able to land Roberto De Zerbi in the coming months should their Australian boss depart the club in the following weeks.
Postecoglou's fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season looks a million miles away at present, with their loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon putting them in 17th-place in the Premier League - and it's seen calls for the former Celtic boss to lose his place in the hotseat in north London.
Fabio Paratici is 'Crazy' Over Roberto de Zerbi
The Italian boss could be a surprise contender for the Tottenham role
With that in mind, a report by TBR Football stated that Fabio Paratici has recommended the Marseille boss to Spurs as they look for a potential new boss, despite the club having made it into the final of the Europa League where they will face Manchester United in Bilbao in 10 days' time.
Postecoglou could be relieved of his duties even if he's successful on the continent, and Tottenham have been working on a potential replacement for him, with De Zerbi on Paratici's list, with the Italian director being 'crazy' about his compatriot.
And Tottenham would be silly not to make a move for the 'genius' former Brighton boss if they are to progress. De Zerbi came to the AMEX Stadium to replace Graham Potter early in the 2022/23 season, when the Englishman left for Chelsea in September of the campaign - and he bettered Potter's ninth-placed finish from the year before with a sixth-placed standing, ensuring European football for the first time for the Seagulls.
He left at the end of the following campaign with Brighton finishing 11th in the top-flight, 12 points away from the European spots - but he's had a solid campaign at Marseille and recent form has seen them finish in the top three of the Ligue 1 table, with Champions League football to celebrate at the Stade Velodrome.
But a Premier League return could be on the cards, and with Tottenham just one game from playing in Europe's premier competition should they beat United in the final, that could be enticing enough for Paratici and Daniel Levy to make a move for his services.
Postecoglou Could Save Tottenham But Not Himself
A treacherous Premier League season has seen them falter for points
Time will run out for Postecoglou if he doesn't deliver a trophy in his second season as he previously promised earlier in the campaign when results weren't going his way. Of course, Tottenham haven't won a trophy for 17 years and in that regard, he'd be doing the club a huge favour in terms of qualifying for the Champions League themselves, as well as dusting off the cobwebs in their trophy cabinet, with almost two decades since their last major honour.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Roberto De Zerbi won 38 of his 89 games in charge of Brighton.
But if he can't deliver in northern Spain, his spell in the capital will certainly come to an end and that would see De Zerbi earmarked as an ideal replacement, with his style of play somewhat similar to Postecoglou's and having evidently proven himself in the top-flight in the past.
