Tottenham are approaching the end of another disappointing week regarding transfers.

The Lilywhites appear to have their fingers in many pies, but have not managed to get any deals over the line – aside from making Mathys Tel’s stay permanent – since Thomas Frank’s appointment.

The Dane is keen to strengthen all areas of the pitch but is primarily focused on bringing in an attacking player this summer, with Mohammed Kudus emerging as the most likely arrival.

With Frank set to meet the majority of the squad in the coming days, the 51-year-old will hope to welcome new additions soon too, as Tottenham News brings you the latest from N17.

Spurs have enquired about Genoa defender Koni De Winter

Tottenham are keen to bring in a fullback this summer, and are also exploring the option of at least one central defender in case Cristian Romero leaves the Lilywhites.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As reported by Ben Jacobs (4 July), Spurs have enquired about Koni De Winter, although no formal bids have been submitted.

The 23-year-old Belgian defender has spent the last two seasons at Genoa in Italy, where he previously teamed up with Radu Drăgușin.

The versatile defender could be an interesting prospect for Frank as he can play both through the middle and on the right of the defence, offering the Spurs boss a two-for-one package.

Kudus to Tottenham is not close to completion

After initially being strongly linked to several Premier League forwards, Tottenham emerged as frontrunners to sign Kudus, who reportedly has a release clause worth £85million for the first 10 days of July.

However, as reported by David Ornstein for The Athletic on YouTube (5 July), a deal for Kudus is far from being finalised with Spurs.

Ornstein said, “I think Tottenham would carry appeal to someone like him, Champions League football and remaining in London, but there will be other options as well, and I don’t think this one is close to a conclusion as of yet.”

The Lilywhites will be hoping that Kudus does not join the long list of previous players that Spurs have failed to sign as Daniel Levy looks to pay below the Ghanian’s clause.

Tottenham sign Max McFadden on two-year deal

Spurs are continuing to target young talent, having already agreed a deal for Oliver Boast from Leeds United.

And now Tottenham have signed 19-year-old Max McFadden after the midfielder’s Leeds departure.

In a club statement on Friday (4 July), Tottenham confirmed the arrival of the teenager on a two-year deal, with it also stated that he will join the Under-21s squad for next season.

McFadden played with Archie Gray in the youth teams in West Yorkshire and received a welcoming message from the Tottenham youngster.
