Tottenham are falling behind their Premier League rivals in the transfer market.

The Lilywhites are enviously watching on as their bitter rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea, continue to strengthen their squads by securing their top targets.

It’s a familiar feeling for the Spurs faithful, but potentially a newer experience for Thomas Frank.

The Dane had become accustomed to a well-oiled system at his former club, Brentford, and therefore, he will be hopeful that Daniel Levy can finally provide him with some much-needed support, as Tottenham News brings you the latest from N17.

Tottenham Women confirm Becky Spencer’s departure

In an official statement on Monday (7 July), Tottenham announced that Becky Spencer will join Chelsea this summer.

Spencer was part of Spurs’ first squad to compete in the Barclays Women’s Super League and went on to make 95 appearances for the Lilywhites.

However, the 34-year-old goalkeeper only made eight starts for Spurs last season before spending the last three months of the campaign on loan with the Blues.

The Jamaica international will sign a one-year contract in West London with a further option to extend her stay until 2027.

Marcus Rashford accepts he must leave United amid Spurs links

Marcus Rashford has been linked with Spurs following his deteriorating situation with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano (6 July), Rashford has accepted that he’s not part of United’s plans, which therefore opens the door for Tottenham to swoop in.

The North Londoners will be deliberating over his wages, although it has been stated that Daniel Levy would have no issues in paying the forward’s salary should Spurs wish to proceed with a deal.

Kōta Takai pictured at airport ahead of Spurs move

Kōta Takai reposted an image via his Instagram of himself at the airport (6 July) ahead of his proposed move to Spurs.

The Japan international is set to become the most expensive signing from the J1 League as he makes a reported £5million move to Tottenham.

The 20-year-old has made a name for himself as a calm and technical defender with plenty of promise, although it remains to be seen whether Frank decides to bring him directly into the first team next season.
