Tottenham’s busy summer continues with preparations for the Thomas Frank era well underway.

Despite a plethora of names being linked with Tottenham, the permanent signings of last season’s loanees Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso are the only confirmed deals of the summer.

At least one marquee forward is expected to join soon, while Spurs are also looking to offload players to slim down their overinflated squad.

Racing Club close in on Alejo Véliz

While plenty of youngsters Tottenham have signed in recent years are maturing into competitive first-team level players, not all of the North London club’s signings have been a hit.

One of those who has not lived up to his promise is Alejo Véliz, who is set to join Racing Club in Argentina, according to journalist Juan Pablo De Luca (26 June).

Initially signed for £13million in August 2023, Véliz struggled to impress at Hotspur Way and was loaned out to Sevilla after less than six months in North London.

The 21-year-old striker once again spent last season on loan, this time at Espanyol, where he only managed one La Liga goal 27 appearances, and looks set to call time on his career in Europe with a return to his home country.

Spurs reveal their new away kit

Tottenham officially announced their new away kit for the 2025/26 season on Thursday (26 June), much to the delight of Tottenham fans.

The Lilywhites will hope that the team’s performances next season will give the fanbase extra pride in wearing it, and will eagerly be anticipating which new signing they can have printed on the back of the shirts.

Spurs captain Son Heung-min was front and centre of the launch, sparking speculation as to whether it may give some indication of his uncertain future.

Tottenham lead the race to sign Georges Mikautadze

Lyon’s relegation from Ligue 1 on Tuesday (24 June) due to their financial deficit shocked world football and alerted plenty of clubs to the wealth of talent at their disposal.

Tottenham are looking to take advantage, and as per Tuttojuve (26 June), now lead the race to sign Georgian forward Georges Mikautadze.

The 24-year-old made a name for himself with the Georgian national team last summer and impressed in his debut season with Lyon.

His goalscoring from the wide position is exactly what Frank is looking for, and the Dane will be hopeful that Spurs can fend off interest from Premier League rivals to bring him to N17.
