Tottenham have opened talks with Djed Spence over a new contract.
The defender's current deal does not expire until 2028, but BBC Sport understands Spurs have entered into discussions with Spence's representatives over a new deal.
After arriving from Middlesbrough in 2022, Spence endured a difficult start to his Tottenham career, spending loan spells at Rennes, Leeds and Genoa.
Yet last season, he emerged as an important player for Ange Postecoglou and these developments over a possible contract extension indicates he has a role to play under new manager Thomas Frank.
