Trust continues to press Club on future direction
The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust has continued to raise serious supporter concerns with Club leadership following its recent letter to Chairman Peter Charrington, which received a formal response acknowledging the strength of feeling among fans. The issues were also raised again at the latest Fan Advisory Board meeting, where discussions focused on football decision-making, leadership, recruitment strategy, and accountability. The Club has recognised the need for a “football reset” and has outlined a number of ongoing changes, and it is fair to say that the start of the summer transfer window has demonstrated a welcome level of activity and investment that is unprecedented in recent times. The Trust will continue to judge progress on visible action and results but it is apparent that the promised change in mindset is being delivered. Read the full article here.
Trust impact
We want to be transparent with our members about what we’ve been up to over recent years and the difference it’s made through our work representing Spurs supporters, engaging with the Club, and supporting a range of campaigns, community initiatives and charitable activity. To do that, we’ve pulled together an impact report covering recent years. See more here.
Thanks to Board Member Rachel Martin
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Rachel for her outstanding contribution as a Board member of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust over more than a decade. Her commitment, insight and tireless work have had a lasting positive impact on supporters and the Trust’s engagement with the Club. As she steps down, we are hugely grateful for everything she has done to strengthen the voice of fans and build meaningful change.
Here is some reflection from Rachel on why the Board is a rewarding and important space to get involved with:
‘Just over ten and a half years ago I took the decision that as a busy mother and headteacher I really needed another massively demanding role in my life…’(read more here).
Unveiling of the Bill Nicholson Plaque
Back in February we were delighted to receive an email from Scarborough Civic Council asking for our help in their bid to erect a blue plaque outside the childhood home of Bill Nicholson.
Thanks to generous donations from many supporters, ourselves and the club the funds were raised and on Wednesday 1st July the unveiling took place which you may have already seen across our social media pages.
On an eventful day it was an honour for us to attend the unveiling at 15 Vine Street, Scarborough alongside many local supporters and Bill’s daughters Jean and Linda.
We would like to thank all those in Scarborough who made the day possible and we would urge anyone who is able to visit and view this wonderful gesture to Mr Tottenham – never forgotten.
Dudley Spurs AGM
Trust Board member Tristan Foot attended the AGM of Dudley Spurs, an official supporters club, early last month. All official supporters clubs can become members of the Trust through their Chair and therefore access the benefit of full membership on behalf of their members.
Tristan explained details of the Trust’s work and its interaction with THFC through the last year. There was a lively debate about how the season has progressed, the various managerial appointments and transfer activity (or lack of transfer activity!)
It was great to see such a committed and active group of supporters at their very first AGM and Tristan was very grateful to have been invited.
