End of Season

Few supporters will be sorry to see the end of a season that has been one of the most disappointing in the Club’s recent history. For many, relief is probably the overriding emotion. However, while the season may be over, the important questions it raises cannot simply be put behind us. A second successive 17th-place finish is unacceptable for a club of Tottenham Hotspur’s stature, ambition and resources and supporters deserve clear answers about how we got here and, more importantly, what will change to ensure it does not happen again. You can read our statement here.

Thank you to everyone who completed our recent members’ survey on confidence in the Club’s leadership and ownership. The response was extremely strong and provides a valuable insight into supporter opinion at a critical moment for the Club. The results will help shape our engagement with the Club in the months ahead as we continue to represent supporters’ views and hold the Club to account for its performance and decision-making.

Men’s Player of the Season Award

In a season as dire as the one we have just experienced, it wasn’t going to be easy to choose a player of the year. However, it would have been nice to have had the opportunity. Anecdotally, we know of very few supporters who were sent the email inviting them to make this choice. We raised the issue with the Club and were told that individual supporters were no longer subscribed to that specific email list. It seems unlikely to us that a large number of fans would have unknowingly unsubscribed from this list and chosen to no longer take part in this process.

To present accurate data as we pursue this, we’d be grateful if THST members would complete this very short survey to confirm whether they received the voting email. This way, we will know the extent of the problem and whether it’s an issue the admin team at Spurs need to look into.

Spurs quiz night: An Argentinian double act!

The Antwerp Arms was packed to the rafters for this year’s THST Quiz Night — and what a night it turned out to be. The event raised a brilliant £1,500 for Studio 306, vital funds that will help them continue their fantastic work in the Haringey community.

The atmosphere was buzzing from the moment the doors opened, with members, supporters and a few club staff all piling in, ready to do battle for serious bragging rights. Theo Delaney — host of the Spurs Show and Life Goals podcast — was back at the helm, keeping the evening sharp, funny and expertly paced. If you’ve been before, you’ll know Theo has a rare gift for making a quiz feel genuinely exciting rather than like a school exam.

Ricky, Ossie & Theo

But the night had a trick up its sleeve. When the legendary Ossie Ardiles walked through the door, the room lit up. And then — when everyone thought it couldn’t get any better — it became clear his “chauffeur” for the evening was none other than Ricky Villa. What had started as a brilliant quiz night suddenly felt like something much more special: two Spurs icons, lifelong friends, in the room together, clearly delighted to be there. Ricky, to his enormous credit, didn’t just hover at the edges — he threw himself into the spirit of the evening and became every bit as cherished a guest as Ossie.

The quiz itself was fiercely contested. Rounds ranged from deep-dive club history to modern trivia, with the ever-popular “Ossie’s Dream” category naturally taking on a whole new meaning with its namesake reading it out. In the end, the THFC staff team ‘Trembly Knees’ proved too strong for the field, clinching their third title in four years and firmly establishing themselves as the ones to beat. However, with only 4 points separating the Top 5 teams, there was some incredible Spurs knowledge on display!

A huge thank you to everyone who came, donated raffle prizes and gave up their time to help on the night. Events like this are a reminder of what makes this club’s supporter community so special — and £1,500 for Studio 306 is a result worth celebrating. See you next year!

FSA AGM

The Trust was represented at the FSA’s AGM held on 6 June at Bush House in Central London, alongside fellow Spurs representatives FAB co-Chair, Chris Paouros and Proud Lilywhites’ Kyle Boyd. The all-day event kicked off with a keynote speech from David Riley, General Counsel at the Independent Football Regulator, who took the meeting through the key challenges facing the IFR in regulating the football industry. He was followed by a presentation by football writer and podcaster Paul Watson, who has also managed at various times to be an international football manager (of the Federated States of Micronesia), the co-founder, former co-owner, and coach of a top-division football club (in Mongolia), and the lead organiser of a football World Cup (for states and peoples not affiliated with FIFA).

A number of motions submitted by supporter organisations were debated on matters such as changes to competition structures (concerned most notably with promotion and relegation), sustainable financial models and improving facilities for supporters with food allergies at stadiums. The Trust supported all successful motions.

The day rounded out with a series of workshops on topics such as Football and Social Media, the FSA’s LGBTQ+ Hub, the Independent Football Regulator, Multi-Club Ownership, Safety Advisory Groups, Ticket Pricing, Young Supporters and Sustainable Transport. The workshops allowed supporters from across the country to share experiences and ideas for future campaigning.

Further details on the AGM can be found here. The FSA has also produced an annual review of its 2025-26 activity, available here.

Bill Nicholson plaque – Scarborough

We are now just weeks away from the blue plaque unveiling outside the birth home of Bill Nicholson in Scarborough, which we were honoured to be invited to by Scarborough & District Civic Society. You can still donate to the plaque by clicking here. We will provide further updates after what we hope will be an amazing day next month.

Is Gascoigne going to have a crack? – Podcast

THST member Gareth Dace has written two books about Spurs in the 1980s and 1990s, and he now has a nostalgia podcast that you may be interested in listening to over the summer. The podcast is called ‘Is Gascoigne Going To Have a Crack?’ (the same name as his 90s book) and provides a narrative that covers the Spurs’ journey through the 1990s. Gareth has so far been joined by ex-players, including Darren Anderton. Erik Thorstvedt, Nayim and Micky Hazard, as well as THST alumni Theo Delaney and Julie Welch, in addition to well-known Spurs podcasters and broadcasters.

The series has provided season reviews and explorations of some of the big topics – such as Sugar v Venables, the 1991 FA Cup Semi-Final and Jurgen Klinsmann’s shock arrival in 1994. It’s a must-listen for anyone around in the 90s who wants to remember a chaotic decade with a bit of historical context, but also for anyone new to Spurs who wants to delve into the club’s past that sets the context for where we are in the 21st century. All episodes are completely timeless and so never go out of date!
