Tottenham are looking to revive their summer interest in AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche in a bid to sign a new attacker for Thomas Frank.

Akliouche was one of the players Spurs targeted before signing Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani towards the end of the summer window.

Who should Spurs’ top winger target be this month?

Now, following the sale of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace and Mohammed Kudus’ injury, Spurs are looking to sign a new attacker.

Akliouche is very highly rated in France and could be the perfect option for Thomas Frank’s squad, even as a long-term investment.

Tottenham have revived their interest in Maghnes Akliouche

Tottenham Hotspur have started to revive their interest in signing Maghnes Akliouche this month, according to Miguel Delaney.

Right now, Frank’s future at Tottenham is uncertain; therefore, the North London club may be cautious about signing new players.

However, the French youngster is seen as a wider part of the project at Spurs, and he could quite easily fit into the next manager’s plans, should Frank be sacked.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Speaking about the situation, Delaney said: “Tottenham Hotspur are reviving their summer interest in Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche.

“They do want to sign a wide forward in this window. They want to freshen up their attack a bit for numerous reasons. Obviously, they’ve been stale up front, they’ve had a lot of injuries there.

Should Tottenham send Kolo Muani back next summer, sign him permanently or end his loan this month?

“You need to look at performances and where they are on the table, too, as well as I suppose the general approach of Thomas Frank’s side.

“Interestingly, I’m told this would be a signing that would be more about, wider strategy rather than necessarily entirely fixed to Thomas Frank’s tactics, given the risk of uncertainty there.”

Tottenham could send Randal Kolo Muani back to PSG

One of the big losers from the arrival of Akliouche is Kolo Muani, who could end up being sent back to Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old has struggled to make much of an impact since his switch from the French giants and has been used more as a left winger.

“If they were to be able to do a deal, they would be open to letting Randal Kolo Muani go, who maybe hasn’t yet worked out as expected. But yes, Spurs do want to sign in that area,” added Delaney.
