Thomas Frank is keen to bring in some exciting attacking talent at Tottenham.

Tottenham have been linked with several high-profile attackers this summer, such as Bryan Mbeumo and Eberechi Eze.

However, the North London side look set to miss out on Mbeumo to Manchester United, while they have reportedly cooled their interest in Eze as Arsenal enter the race for the Crystal Palace star’s signature.

As a result, Tottenham could look elsewhere, although it appears this might not be such a bad thing, as one attacking player linked with the club is now likened to Lionel Messi.

Tottenham want to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United

Tottenham have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Mohammed Kudus.

Should Daniel Levy agree a deal to sign the Ghanaian, it would be the first time a player has moved between West Ham and Tottenham since Scott Parker in 2011.

As reported by The Guardian (30 June), West Ham could accept £60million for Kudus.

The response to this potential bit of business has been mixed among the Spurs faithful, although one West Ham fan has now likened Kudus to Messi, which will surely excite fans in North London.

Tottenham should buy Kudus for a discounted price

There are many reasons why Tottenham should sign Kudus this summer.

The 24-year-old can play anywhere across the frontline as well as an attacking midfielder, which will be a massive boost to Spurs’ trophy hopes.

One of the biggest issues last season was the limited squad options when hit with injuries. Signing Kudus would mean whether it is James Maddison or Brennan Johnson out, Tottenham will have a replacement lined up.

However, the forward struggled to replicate the form he showed in the 2023/24 campaign last season, which could be a worry for Frank. Kudus contributed to nine goals last season compared to 28 the season before.

There is, of course, the possibility that Frank could get the best out of him once again. However, this is too big a risk for £85m. Therefore, if Tottenham are going to sign Kudus, it needs to be for a discounted price.
