Tottenham are ready to offer 'really big money' in order to secure their next signing in the summer transfer window, according to David Ornstein.

It's been a productive start to the summer transfer window for Spurs, already confirming three new additions through the door.

Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson have both arrived on free transfers from Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively, while Jan-Paul van Hecke was signed from Brighton.

The North London club are looking to strengthen their options ahead of the 26-27 season after such a disappointing couple of years.

They are entering a new era as Roberto De Zerbi prepares for his first full season in charge after showing encouraging signs throughout the end of the 25/26 campaign.

Tottenham Preparing Big Money Deal

According to The Athletic journalist Ornstein, Tottenham are ready to offer 'really big money' to convince Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali to make the move to Spurs this summer.

"There is an acceptance at St. James's Park that Tonali could exit this summer, but the money has to be right. We think that is around £100m, with a very significant salary demand as well. Tottenham are in for him.

What I see happening here is Tottenham trying to get to a place where they know they can do a deal with the player on salary. I'm hearing they are offering him really big money to join them. After that, they will go to Newcastle. If that part is okay, they will open talks and try to negotiate a fee.

It really would be quite something, wouldn't it, if they get a player of Tonali's stature for around £100m, a level they have never been to in terms of transfer fee? Also, the salary numbers I am hearing would take Tottenham to an area that you did not use to see them go before."

Ornstein claims that Newcastle will be looking to demand in the region of £100m in order to allow Tonali to depart, which would be a record-breaking deal for the North London club.

Tottenham are seriously not messing around in the summer transfer window, which is no surprise considering how disappointing they have been over the last two years.

Tottenham Willing to Pay £85m for Tonali

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Tottenham are ready to pay between £80m and £85m, potentially with add-ons on top of that too.

Spurs are willing to smash their transfer record in order to bring the Newcastle midfielder to the club, with the owners looking to back De Zerbi in the market.

It would certainly be a huge financial outlay for Tottenham to bring Tonali, described as 'world-class', to the club, but they appear willing to break the bank in order to secure his signature.

Despite struggling over the last two seasons, which have seen them finish 17th in the Premier League both times, they are still a huge player in the transfer market.
