Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Monaco striker Folarin Balogun this summer, according to SunSport.

Balogun enjoyed an impressive season at Monaco last term, netting 19 goals and providing four assists across all competitions. This came before an outstanding World Cup campaign for the United States, in which he led the line for a competent Mauricio Pochettino side that reached the last 16 of the tournament in North America.

These exploits for club and country have sparked serious interest in the 25-year-old. Leeds have been cited as a potential suitor, although the player's representatives are seemingly eyeing a more lucrative switch.

Balogun's camp has supposedly approached Tottenham directly with a proposal, informing the North London club that the number nine is available for a competitive fee.

Folarin Balogun Offered to Tottenham

Spurs have been active in the market thus far this summer, adding a number of defenders and midfielders to Roberto De Zerbi's ranks. Sandro Tonali has arrived as the marquee signing in a £100 million deal, while Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke have also been acquired for significant fees.

Attention for the Lilywhites' hierarchy now turns towards bolstering the attack, as they look to source cover and competition for centre-forwards Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.

Junior Kroupi was deemed the priority target, but the Bournemouth striker sustained a serious foot injury in pre-season training last week, putting him out of contention.

Instead, Tottenham may have just been presented with the perfect alternative. SunSport report that Balogun, described as 'ruthless', has been offered to the Premier League outfit, and the proposed fee it would take to pry him away from Monaco makes him an attractive option for the Lilywhites.

The American spent 15 years at Arsenal before leaving for Monaco in the summer of 2023. While he has largely impressed in Ligue 1, there has been some uncertainty surrounding his future in the south of France, fuelling speculation that he could depart this summer.

Spurs Could Also Sign Nicolas Jackson or Victor Osimhen

SunSport indicate that Balogun isn't the only striker who has been presented to Spurs as an option this summer.

The outlet suggests that the idea of Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson swapping West London for North London has been floated by intermediaries. Jackson is currently away with the Blues for pre-season training, but a potential deal is still deemed plausible.
